Ladies Breakfast: Celebrating Women, Strengthening Community
SANZAF hosted its annual Ladies Breakfast, an inspiring morning dedicated to celebrating women and championing empowerment in a warm and elegant setting. Guests were treated to a beautifully presented breakfast and uplifting company, creating an atmosphere of unity and reflection.
The highlight of the morning was guest speaker Raigaanah Nackerdien, whose moving story of resilience, strength and the power of community deeply resonated with the audience. Her words left many feeling uplifted and motivated to play an active role in driving positive change.
The event concluded on a high note with an exciting prize giveaway, bringing joy and appreciation to those in attendance. The Ladies Breakfast successfully raised funds for SANZAF’s development programmes and strengthened bonds within the community.

A Women's Month Celebration of Care and Community
As part of its Women's Month outreach, SANZAF hosted 50 senior citizens from communities including Manenberg, Gugulethu, Bonteheuwel, Hanover Park, Lavender Hill and the Northern Suburbs for a special day of care and connection in Paarl.
Our esteemed guests were treated to a day of pampering by the dedicated SANZAF team and the incredible I Deserve It pamper team. From thoughtful gifts to a specially prepared meal, every detail was designed to make them feel cherished and appreciated.
This event not only brought joy to our guests but reaffirmed commitment to building a more inclusive, compassionate and respectful society, one that values the dignity of every individual.
Celebrating the Power and Impact of Women
SANZAF was honoured to host a meaningful gathering with 100 remarkable women, including the esteemed Dr. Shaheda Omar from The Teddy Bear Clinic. The day was a celebration of strength, resilience and the vital role women play in uplifting their communities.
A special highlight of the event was the recognition of our ongoing knitting and crocheting initiative, a testament to compassion in action. We paid tribute to the inspiring Aunty Hazel, who, at 90 years old, continues to handcraft beanies with love and dedication for children in need, a true example of lifelong service and generosity. Through heartfelt connections and shared purpose, the event reaffirmed the importance of empowering women to lead, nurture and transform society.
SANZAF’s Ladies Wellness Day
As part of our ongoing celebrations of 50 years of service to humanity, we were honoured to treat wonderful senior ladies to a special wellness spa day. The day was filled with warm conversations, pampering treatments and delightful treats, all designed to offer these extraordinary women a well-deserved moment of relaxation and joy.

In honour of Women’s Day, SANZAF hosted a heartwarming and impactful programme at the Mariam Bee Hall, bringing together women from all walks of life for a morning of learning, inspiration and community upliftment.
The event featured a dynamic lineup of speakers, including Shagufta Khan, Futhi Ngobo, Matron Miss King and Feroza Ally, who shared powerful insights on a range of important topics. These included breast cancer awareness, childbirth, mental health, Islamic principles and the foundations of nurturing strong, healthy marriages.
The exceptional turnout and overwhelmingly positive response from attendees highlighted the programme’s success and the value of creating safe spaces for women to engage, connect and grow.
This initiative forms part of SANZAF’s continued commitment to empowering and uplifting the women in our communities.
Empowering Women in Corporate: A Morning of Insight and Inspiration
The Islamic Business and Finance (IBF) Women’s Forum, Women in Corporate event took place at the Hyatt House in Sandton offering an inspiring space for reflection, collaboration and empowerment.
The morning unfolded under the poised direction of Programme Director Shahista Thokan, who guided attendees through a series of enriching and thought-provoking sessions.

Shaykha Umme Rooman Soofie, who offered profound insights on “Spirituality in the Workplace,” encouraging attendees to harmonise faith with professional life.
Nazeema Soomar, who focused on “Your Best Investment Yet: Maintaining a Work-Health Balance,” a crucial topic in today’s fast-paced world.
Fayruz Mohamed, SANZAF First Deputy, who delivered a moving address on “Celebrating Your Authentic Self,” inspiring women to lead with confidence and authenticity.
